IUG Continues 42nd Cohort Graduation Ceremonies: Faculty of IT

On August 17, IUG celebrated a new group of graduates from the Faculty of Information Technology. The graduation ceremony was held in the conference hall and was attended by Prof. Nasser Farhat, the University President; Prof. Elian El-Holi, the Vice President of Academic Affairs; Dr. Iyad Al-Shami, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology; and members of the academic and administrative bodies of the university. The students also invited their families and friends to share these remarkable moments with them.

Special University

Speaking before the ceremony audience, Prof. El-Holi stated that IUG is an academic institution that aims to upgrade the scientific and cultural aspects of Palestinian society. In order to achieve this, it employs modern strategies, pursues technological development, and encourages scientific research. “Our mission is to build a generation that respects the Islamic values,” he added.

Addressing the graduates, Prof. El-Holi said, “Success accompanies the enlightened minds. I believe that the educational environment at the Islamic university helped you complete your studies successfully. We are glad that we could provide you with qualified teachers, unique study plans, and up-to-date teaching methods.”

Alumni Speech

Ahmed Shamia spoke on behalf of his classmates to reflect on their experiences and express their feelings on that day. “Today, we reap the fruits of the seeds we planted on the ground of IUG four years ago. The heroes of this journey believed in what Allah said in the Holy Quran, “In the bounty of Allah and in His mercy – in that let them rejoice; it is better than what they accumulate.” Had it not been for the grace and mercy of God upon us, we would not have learned anything. So, praise be to Allah until the praise reaches its limit.”

“My message to the gleaming pearl that overlies the crown of knowledge, to the institution that has incubated generations and helped them leave unforgettable marks in the history of Palestine: I searched and searched but found no valuable words in the dictionaries of acknowledgment and appreciation to express my gratitude. I lost my boat before landing at the desired destination. Thanks to the university’s scientists and leaders.”

Honors

At the event’s end, the students Ghadeer Al-Hayek, Malak Ghabayen, Raghad Al-Khatib, and Aya Al-Shawa were honored for winning the Eng. Zuhair Hijjawi Award for Scientific Research in 2023. In their project, they explored a global problem, antibiotic resistance. Instead of the time-consuming and equipment-intensive AST test used by specialists, students in the Gaza Strip have developed an application that utilizes AI to analyze images and interpret various AST test results.
